About Banzo

What we do

Banzo designs, manufactures, installs and maintains recycling plants. Our goal is to improve the quality and economic feasibility of recycling through modern and complete facilities that help cities and regions to process waste and create resources, in the Netherlands and throughout the world.

With Banzo, you can rely on 70 years of experience. We have experienced strong and steady growth over the past few years by flexibly responding to questions from our customers. Our installations are designed to customer specifications. By making use of standard components, we can quickly translate a design into an operational plant. We take our responsibility very seriously and in our work with our clients, we continue to distinguish ourselves in the market by providing solutions that work.

Our drive

We believe that recycling helps to improve the world, but also that it must be economically viable. This is our challenge: to work together with our customers on innovation and quality in recycling, and to be where the market and the world needs us, working on customer-specific solutions to improve the output and efficiency of the waste sorting process and supplying the market’s needs for raw materials.

Our goal

It is our goal to improve the quality and economic feasibility of recycling through modern and complete facilities that help cities and regions to process waste and create resources, in the Netherlands and throughout the world.

History

Banzo was founded by Mr. Motzheim in Groningen, the Netherlands in 1947. For a long time, Banzo focused on the production and supply of conveyor belts. In 1978, his three sons took over the company and moved it to Emmer-Compascum. Mr. Lodewijk took over the company in 1994, and Banzo Engineering was founded alongside Banzo in 2001. Since that time,  Banzo has also focused on the engineering of plants, in addition to the production and maintenance of conveyors.

In 2009, Banzo became property of Metso, which sold it to its current owner-manager Marcel Kroon in 2011. In 2014 and 2015 major successes were achieved with the realization of a plastic separation plant for sorting plastics, construction of a separation plant for household waste and the construction of a separation plant for source-segregated material which is completely integrated in the sorting plant for plastics. These three projects were all subsequently built at Attero in Wijster.
